I am an OD and HR consultant with a passion for people and team development, and the impact that high quality leaders and managers make on organisational culture and bottom line success.
I’ve enjoyed a stimulating career in leadership and development but it’s my experience as HR & OD Director for a number of NHS Trusts that has proved incredibly valuable in my consulting work with healthcare organisations. I know just how it feels to work in such a complex and challenging environment; often in the context of major transition.
I studied Psychology at University and joined Sainsbury’s as a graduate trainee. After 5 years of cutting my teeth as a manager and then in Learning and Development, I moved to a first wave NHS Trust as Associate Director of HR and OD. Since then, as a Consultant and Coach, I’ve worked extensively in the health sector but also with big name clients in the private sector such as KPMG, Johnson & Johnson and Fox International.
My consulting work has focused on many aspects of organisational development – leadership and management development; designing and implementing new management structures post-merger; designing and delivering leadership programmes; designing and implementing OD strategy; embedding culture change; developing and delivering strategies to develop employee engagement, and working with a significant number of NHS teams (including Board and Executive teams) to assess and develop their effectiveness.
I was involved in piloting the Aston OD tools in health teams and contributing to their validation before publication. So it’s a natural step as well as a real privilege to have worked with Aston OD since 2010 and to have contributed to the successful development of the company’s tools and programmes. My role now is to lead on delivery and to support Sarah-Jane as the company steps up a gear and invests in growth.
I like to bring energy and sparkle to my facilitation, consulting and training, and to every aspect of my life! I am very proud to be a governor of the top-performing Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, luckily just a mile from my home.
